FRENCH 75

The French 75 is one of the most elegant and sophisticated gin cocktails out there.

WHAT EQUIPMENT WILL I NEED TO MAKE A FRENCH 75?

A spirits measure and a cocktail shaker.

WHAT INGREDIENTS WILL I NEED TO MAKE A FRENCH 75?

To make this iconic gin cocktail, you'll need some gin (obviously!), fresh lemons, simple sugar syrup, champagne and ice.

WHAT GLASSWARE DO I NEED FOR A FRENCH 75?

A French 75 is served perfectly in a champagne flute.

HOW DO I MAKE A FRENCH 75?

Chill your champagne flute first before adding ice, 50ml of gin, 25ml of freshly squeezed lemon juice and 10ml of simple sugar syrup to your cocktail shaker. Shake well until chilled and fine strain it into the chilled champagne flute. Top with Champagne and garnish with a twist of lemon peel.

WHAT GIN DO YOU RECOMMENDED TO MAKE A FRENCH 75?

A citrus based London Dry gin is the best gin to use for this cocktail. We have two that work perfectly.

Try it using our Stockport Gin Original Edition. A classic London Dry gin that we distil with lemon and orange peel, this gin complements this cocktail incredibly well.

Alternatively, for something simply incredible, try it using our Stockport Gin Gunpowder Edition gin. It is a Navy Strength gin that works really well in this cocktail thanks to it's intense botanical flavour.

Give them both a go and let us know which you prefer!
